Third Beta release for MT4

Hot on the heels of the Beta 2 release is Movable Type 4 Beta 3. This new version has a much enhanced first screen, with a welcome message for the user, useful links, and more options. The activity log shows that the support folder error has been fixed, and according the movabletype.org there's over 50 bug fixes. Live preview seems to have taken a step back, and isn't displaying correctly.

The first major change in the edit screen is the way movable type now handles urls. In the edit window, the link above looks like this:

I had to check it out, hence discovering the live preview issue. Instead of showing a full screen preview as in the previous beta release, there's now a small box up in the corner that you need to scroll to see the page. I image it will be fixed by the next release. Users have been busy leaving feedback, obviously, for so many bug fixes to have occurred.

I revisited the footer module template earlier to see why mine wasn't showing up, and noticed that the code is actually commented out. You need to remove <!-- and --> to see the footer, after rebuilding the site.

This time the upload and upgrade took me less than 15 minutes. A big improvement on the initial 2 hours it took to upload and install originally. SSL is a great way to upgrade swiftly.
