Well, I’m impressed with the new release of MT4. There’s a few little improvements that have customised the layout even more. Not sure that I’m ready to move all my blogs over though, there’s still a shortage of plugins that aren’t yet compatible with the new version.
I’ve been using MT Autoban since day 1 of the MT4 beta releases and it works well with MT Akismet. I was having a problem with trackback spam but that has improved with the last couple of releases. The updates were happening so fast that I didn’t get to test each of them, and it won’t be long until the final version is released. There’s been some great stuff happened with this release.
One of my problems has been getting the reCaptcha plugin to work. It’s visible in the plugins, but the captcha box isn’t showing up when you post anomously. I’ve searched the web for a clue to fix this, adding a line of code to the mtconfig file so the program knows where to find the captcha images, but that hasn’t solved the problem.
In the process, I’ve managed to stuff up my first blog. I deleted a template and now the blog won’t re-publish, getting fatal errors because it’s looking for the template that I deleted. Not good, but since it was a test blog it doesn’t matter too much. The posts were all about the beta releases, and probably not interesting reading unless you were following the release path.
Perhaps I’ll transfer a few over to this blog for prosterity’s sake, but I doubt anyone will care.
